Disclaimer
1. General Information
The content on this website and my social media accounts (@fenny.foryourthoughts) is intended to support general mental health education. It is not a substitute for therapy, medical care, or legal advice.
While I aim to offer thoughtful, supportive services, I cannot be held responsible for any outcomes or decisions based on this content. You’re always welcome to bring any questions to session so we can explore them together.
2. No Therapeutic Relationship
Engaging with this website or my social media accounts does not establish a therapeutic relationship. A formal client–therapist relationship is only established after a consultation and once the client has signed the Informed Consent form.
3. Coincidental Similarities
While some content may feel personally relevant, it is shared in a general context and is not directed at any individual. Any resemblance to your personal experiences is purely coincidental.
4. Crisis Support
I do not provide crisis services. My website, email, and social media accounts are not monitored for emergency or time-sensitive communication.
Therapeutic concerns are best supported during scheduled sessions, and administrative matters can be directed to [email protected].
If you are in crisis, please reach out to 911 or contact the Toronto Distress Centre at 416-408-HELP (4357) for immediate support.
5. Third-Party Content
I am not responsible for third-party advertisements, sponsored content, or any content shared by others on social media platforms. Reactions to public interactions are outside of my control.
6. Social Media Use & Boundaries
General Use & Public Interaction
You are welcome to follow or unfollow my business social media accounts at any time.
These accounts (e.g., @fenny.foryourthoughts) are public platforms, which means any likes, shares, or comments you make may be visible to others. If you choose to engage publicly, you may unintentionally disclose personal information — including the fact that you are or were a client. I cannot guarantee confidentiality in public spaces, and you are responsible for what you choose to share.
Please note that these platforms are not monitored for therapeutic communication. If you comment on a post and I happen to see it, I may acknowledge it with a “like,” but I will not respond or engage further. This helps maintain your privacy and uphold professional boundaries.
If any content brings something up for you, you are always welcome to bring it up during a scheduled session.
Following, Requests & Boundaries with Clients
To support confidentiality and ethical care, I do not follow back current or former clients—or anyone closely connected to them (such as friends, partners, or family members).
I also do not accept follow or connection requests on my personal social media accounts from individuals I’ve seen in a counselling capacity or from anyone directly connected to a client.
These boundaries are in place to help protect your privacy, maintain clear roles, and ensure that all communication related to therapy happens in appropriate, secure settings.
7. Land Acknowledgment
I acknowledge that I live and work on the traditional territory of many Nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples. This land is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities.
I remain committed to ongoing learning, unlearning, and reconciliation, and I honour the enduring presence and contributions of Indigenous Peoples, past and present.
